Let me introduce myself to everyone! I am Jess, a 23 year old infant room teacher at a daycare in Buffalo, NY (no I am not close to NYC, its about 9 hours away). I am currently in school studying to be an Occupational Therapist aspiring to work with children, veterans, or those with mental health disorders.
Some fun facts about me:
- My favorite animal is a llama
- I love being outdoors in the summer (as long as the weather isn’t 90 or above, the humidity is down, and the mosquitos stay away) whether it be walking, listening to music, writing, reading, around a bonfire, or exploring through woods.
- I am always down for an adventure, especially if it gets my adrenaline rushing, doesn’t matter if its planned, last minute, or late night, I love adventures. I’ve only been on a 4 wheeler a handful of times, but I love them. I just discovered RiverWorks has a high ropes course, rock climbing, and zip lining that I NEED to try out.
- As a child (and now) I enjoyed certain sport like activities such as; roller blading, ice skating, rock climbing, swimming, basketball (by no means “good” at this, more so the aspect of just shooting hoops for fun), and jump rope.
- I have always loved reading and writing! My school had a reading competition of who could read the most chapters, within our primary school (K-2nd) when I was in second grade. The prizes of reaching a goal of a certain number of chapters read were books. I can proudly say I read about 2,000 chapters; I surpassed the estimated goal of most chapters read and was the top reader of the school. Some of my favorite books were the magic tree house series and A-Z mysteries. I transferred from public school to private school mid year of fourth grade. So I thought that writing stories using my new classmates names would help me adjust and make friends easier. I loved writing stories, but that did not work! I stopped writing stories about them, and I ended up with a good group of friends and a year later, one of my stories got me third place in our small schools writing contest.
- I haven’t traveled a crazy amount of times, but I love traveling, airplanes excite me, and new places are amazing to explore, especially learning about the different cultures. One day I plan to go to Europe and explore the countries. Italy, Greece, and Romania are at the top of my list.
- Despite being half Italian, I am not too big on pasta, I like it but its not a love. I hate tomatoes and almost everything tomato based, I don’t see why everyone is obsessed with cheese, I like it on pizza (a minimal-moderate amount), but the thought of sitting and eating cheese by the handfuls never appeased me.
- I recently started some basic Krav Maga (Isreali self defense) training at a local self defense school which I LOVE! The feeling of defending myself and building my strength physically, mentally. and emotionally is incredibly empowering and a heck of a confidence boast. I also take boxing, kickboxing, and a warrior class each 2x a week.
- I hate actually lifting weights, but I like different aspects of strength training. My favorite ab exercise is sit ups. One of my fitness goals is to do move up to push ups on my knuckles, right now I can do pretty good incline push ups.
- I have been on the search for good pancakes for about a year now, I hardcore rate them pretty intensely; so if you think you can help me end my search please hit me up with an invite to breakfast/brunch!
- I am a type 2 (The helper) wing 3 on the enneagram personality test. I’m still trying to figure out the whole enneagram test result interpretations but it seems accurate
